Sharper Throttle Response

Factory throttle mapping is soft and delayed. Tuning improves throttle response so the truck reacts more immediately and predictably in daily driving and off-road use.

Smoother Power Delivery

Custom tuning smooths factory torque dips and uneven transitions, resulting in a more linear and refined powerband.

Optimized Variable Cam Timing

We focus on reliability, factory safety systems, and real-world drivability—not chasing peak numbers.

A custom tune does not automatically void your vehicle’s warranty.

In the U.S., warranty coverage is governed by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. This means a manufacturer must be able to demonstrate that a modification directly caused a specific failure in order to deny warranty coverage for that repair.

That said, tuning does modify factory calibration behavior, and warranty decisions are ultimately made by the dealer and manufacturer on a case-by-case basis. CAMTuning calibrations are designed to retain factory safety strategies and prioritize drivability and reliability, but we cannot control how a dealership evaluates a modified vehicle.

Many customers choose to return the vehicle to stock using the Cobb Accessport prior to dealer visits. The Accessport allows the ECU and TCM to be fully restored to factory calibration at any time.

If warranty preservation is a primary concern, we recommend discussing expectations openly before tuning so you can make an informed decision.

Remote tuning uses real-world data from your vehicle to refine the ECU calibration without requiring an in-person visit. After purchase, you’ll receive instructions to install the tune using a Cobb Accessport and record datalogs during normal driving. Those logs show exactly how your engine and transmission are behaving in your environment.

We review the data, make targeted adjustments where needed, and provide revisions based on actual vehicle feedback—not assumptions. This process allows the calibration to be refined for drivability, consistency, and reliability in the conditions you actually drive in.

A reflash is a pre-developed calibration designed to improve performance and drivability on a typical setup. It is flashed to the vehicle as-is and includes a single datalog review to confirm everything is operating as expected. Revisions are not typically required.

A custom tune is built using your vehicle’s datalogs and refined over one or more revisions. This allows the calibration to account for your specific vehicle, fuel, modifications, and driving conditions.

Both options are developed using real data. Custom tuning simply allows a higher level of individual refinement.

Yes. The Cobb Accessport allows you to fully uninstall the tune and return the ECU and TCM to the original factory calibration at any time.

This process restores the vehicle to stock software and removes the Accessport pairing from the vehicle. No permanent changes are made to the ECU during tuning.

On modern platforms, especially Toyota’s torque-managed powertrains, performance is dictated by how the ECU delivers power, not just how much. Typical areas of refinement include throttle behavior, torque management logic, boost and load control (where applicable), shift strategy on automatic transmissions, and drivability transitions such as tip-in and part-throttle operation. All changes are validated through datalog review to ensure factory safety systems remain intact.
